basic update service

the basic update service is offered so your computer system (s) can be analyzed for & repaired of any existing vulnerabilities. these vulnerabilities could be due to:

	a lack of appropriate hot fixes, service packs & updates applied to windows operating systems and/or microsoft software
	inappropriately configured services
	lack of firewall protection
	improperly configured firewalls
	lack of virus protection software
	inadequate or outdated virus software and/or definitions

we will then work with you in determining the desired uses of the computer system (s) and the services required so as to establish "computing peace of mind" without eliminating any of your desired computing needs.

once the potential vulnerabilities and computing needs are identified we will:

	install all necessary hot fixes, service packs or updates to your Windows operating system and/or Microsoft software
	install and configure a software firewall
	install and configure virus protection software
	final review system for vulnerabilities and readjust as required

with this service, all future updates to the windows operating system and/or Microsoft software, firewall (including configuration), virus protection software and any other maintenance is totally up to you. These systems need regular maintenance therefore this service is only recommended to those of you comfortable making regular updates.

we will gladly provide future updates on an hourly service call basis or with our managed service contract.
